US Representative Niki Tsongas visits Mack Technologies. The Congresswoman toured Mack’s operation and also hosted a town hall session for Mack’s employees, suppliers, and customers who attended the event.

WESTFORD, MA – August 2, 2017– Congresswoman Niki Tsongas visited Mack Technologies yesterday, a contract manufacturer for complex electronic manufacturing services whose work supports the development of the Army’s next generation electronics and communications equipment.  Mack Technologies provides services for a diverse industry mix including medical devices, aerospace, industrial, energy, and communications. Congresswoman Tsongas has long advocated for the unique ecosystem that exists in the Commonwealth, where business, academia and a skilled workforce have come together to make Massachusetts is a leader in advanced and innovative technologies.

Mack Technologies is a family owned and operated business with approximately 165 employees at their Westford facility.  Their electronic manufacturing services include circuit board assembly, system integration and configuration, testing, design support, and fulfillment solutions.

As a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, and the highest ranking Democrat on the Tactical Air and Land Subcommittee, Rep. Tsongas plays a key oversight role over the procurement and R&D programs to ensure that America’s soldiers and airmen are fully equipped to carry out their mission and keep our nation safe.

“Modernizing communications systems is one of the Army’s top priorities, and it was great to see firsthand how Mack Technologies is contributing to that effort,” said Congresswoman Tsongas.  “I highly value visiting innovative companies like Mack Technologies so I can better understand their challenges and needs.  Congress has a responsibility to create the best conditions for American businesses to innovate, manufacture, and create jobs right here at home.  When more products are made in America, there will be greater opportunity for our people to ‘Make It In America.’”

“Mack Technologies would like to thank Representative Tsongas for visiting our Westford, Massachusetts operation today” said Will Kendall, President of Mack Technologies. “We are grateful for her commitment to the WIN-T program and her continued support for advanced manufacturing jobs in Massachusetts and throughout the United States.”

Congresswoman Tsongas has long been a strong advocate for domestic manufacturing, promoting a “Make it in America” agenda that looks to support local companies who are committed to manufacturing their products on American soil and thereby maintaining and creating jobs. Making accessibility a priority since taking office, Tsongas has visited countless businesses and organizations in the communities of the Third District to learn about the issues important to them so she can be a better advocate on their behalf in Congress. She engages with local manufacturers to get their input regarding how we can nurture American manufacturing, how we can do a better job of training and retraining to meet the high-tech needs of employers, and how we can ensure that good jobs are available at every skill level.
